May 1 (Fri) ALL DAY — On May 1, communities across the country are preparing for “No work, no school, and no shopping.” Workers, students, families will be marching, rallying, training, walking out and taking action together to demand a nation that puts workers over billionaires. Please join if you can! There is more info at https://maydaystrong.org/
May 1 (Fri) 5:30-7 PM — We’re hoping to have a table at the Families Before Fortunes event at Methow Park! Come hear from community leaders and local groups, and you can join a march to Memorial Park and back! Help us represent Palestine in the march!
May 2 (Sat) 11 AM — We will be protesting at the Stemilt Grand Parade again! Here are examples of our past Apple Blossom parade protests. No Kim Schrier this year, but there will be plenty of other complicit politicians present (see the lineup here).
Wenatchee Mayor Mike Poirier and East Wenatchee Mayor Jerrilea Crawford will be in the parade. Both mayors are complicit in the fascist acts taken by East Wenatchee and Wenatchee to remove the Pride banners in June.
Also present in the parade: our State Senator Keith Goehner, who voted against SJM 8014, which would have demanded an investigation into Israel’s murder of Washington resident Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi in 2024. Our State Representatives Mike Steele and Brian Burnett, who didn’t help pass the Ayşenur bill, will also be there. None of the three have supported divesting our state funds from apartheid Israel or placing limits on ICE.
We are going to hold all five of them accountable! We’ll have signs and banners, and are additionally going to be handing out Palestine and Mexico flags to the surrounding crowd so that our neighbors can also show their solidarity. We are going to try to get the spot right at the corner of Orondo and Wenatchee in the road facing the oncoming procession. Come join us there if you can!
You can print copies of our parade flyer here.
May 3 (Sun) 2-3:30 PM — Please join us at the Wenatchee Public Library (Lion’s Club Conference Room) for Palestine 101—a presentation that explores Palestinian history, the ongoing genocide, and why your activism should include Palestine! You can RSVP here!
